STATE INFORMATION SERVICE
18 FEBRUARY 2024
The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced that under the distinguished patronage of His
Excellency Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES) 2024 is poised to open its doors tomorrow, Monday 19 February 2024, bearing the theme: "Driving Energy Transition, Security, and
Decarbonization." As the epicenter for global energy dialogue in Africa and the
Mediterranean, EGYPES 2024 is underway to be the most pivotal edition to date.
Supported by the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, the Egypt Energy Show will convene from 19-21 February at the Egypt International Exhibition Center. Anticipating participation from over 35,000 attendees and 2,200 delegates spanning the entire energy supply and value chains, EGYPES 2024 will engage in comprehensive discussions concerning worldwide energy dynamics, the latest industry trends, regional progress, and collective actions to achieving net-zero emissions.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry on Sunday, Engineer Tarek El-Molla, Minister of
Petroleum and Mineral Resources, explained that
President Abdel Fattah
El-Sisi’s sponsorship and annual opening of the conference is a source of pride and a positive message to global investment about the state’s support for investments in the Egyptian energy sector, noting that the conference will launch this year in a new guise, transforming From an oil conference to a comprehensive energy platform that discusses and reviews all challenges and solutions regarding achieving the energy transition and reducing carbon emissions from energy production and use.
El-Molla added that the conference aims to emphasize the importance and necessity of balancing between the transition to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources, as well as securing their supplies in more responsible and environmentally friendly ways to maintain economic growth and meet the needs of the people, which is achieved through the oil and gas industry’s commitment to applying carbon emissions reduction techniques in parallel with the development of green and renewable energies, especially hydrogen.
El-Molla pointed out that the conference in its new edition is witnessing a large and effective international presence from the global energy sector with the participation of a large number of ministers and officials from the energy sectors as representatives of their countries, secretaries of regional and international energy organizations, and CEOs of major international energy companies.
The first day of EGYPES 2024 will witness the launch of the strategic conference activities with the participation of ministers, energy industry leaders, and CEOs of major international energy, oil, and gas companies. More than 40 CEOs and leadership officials from international and local energy,
oil, and gas companies will also participate.
EGYPES 2024 will also witness the holding of the Energy Sustainability Conference on the second day of the event, with the participation of Engineer Tarek El-Molla, Minister of
Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment. It includes many industry leaders to explore the latest developments in the field of sustainable and green energy and the strategies required to achieve the goals of reducing emissions and removing carbon from traditional fuels.
For the first time, the conference is organizing the Climate Technology Challenge Forum to be a global platform for emerging companies to present their technological solutions to reduce carbon emissions before a distinguished jury of energy leaders, officials and industry experts.
The conference will host the African Energy Dialogue event, which brings together the most prominent stakeholders in the sector in Africa to discuss the most pressing challenges related to policies, legislation and natural gas infrastructure development, in addition to how Africa can exploit its rich resources in the energy sector to move the continent towards a more prosperous and
sustainable energy
future.
This year, EGYPES continues to embrace the themes of equality in the energy sector, finance and investment. It also organizes its annual technical conference, which aims to bring together the expertise of industry technical personnel from various countries, in addition to organizing a program for young professionals in the energy industry.
The conference allocates its annual awards to the best initiatives in the field of sustainability in the energy sector, in addition to the Energy Sector Equality Awards for the best influential elements in supporting this field.
About 35,000 participants from 120 countries, about 2,200 members of delegations, and more than 40
Egyptian and international energy, oil, gas, and energy technology companies are scheduled to participate in the Egypt International Energy Conference and Exhibition (EGYPES 2024) this year.
EGYPES 2024 activities will witness the holding of 80 discussion sessions with the participation of more than 300 speakers, while the accompanying exhibition, held on an area of 39 thousand square meters, also includes pavilions for 12 countries, including China, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Romania, which is participating for the first time, Spain, Turkey, the
United Arab
Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America, in addition to 450 exhibiting companies from various countries.
